Coming Soon! Big Al II Remembered.

Where gentle beginnings, shared moments, and quiet kindness come together.
Big Al II, Big Al The Basset Hound

Big Al the Basset Hound was created to remind us to slow down and notice the good things, even in a fast-moving world. From the very beginning, Big Al was meant to grow beyond being a family pet or mascot and become a lovable character who wanders through stories carrying kindness, patience, and care for people, animals, and the natural world.
At the heart of Big Al’s universe is the belief that small moments matter. Time together, shared stories, quiet routines, and simple joys help shape character and connection. Big Al reminds us that life is meant to be lived with presence, affection, and responsibility.
Basset hounds move at a different pace by nature. They sniff first, listen closely, and rest when the world rushes by. Big Al reflects that same easygoing spirit, inviting families, children, and adults to slow down, notice what truly matters, and treat people and animals with kindness and care.
Through stories, creativity, and thoughtful experiences, Big Al supports families as they raise children who value kindness, imagination, and respect for the world around them. This is a place where curiosity is welcomed, compassion is practiced, and love for animals and nature is nurtured.
Big Al the Basset Hound is a living tradition, built to grow gently over time. Rooted in family values and guided by purpose, Big Al looks forward while honoring what came before, creating space for meaningful moments today and for generations to come.

My name was Big Al I, and while the details of my earliest days have faded with time, the heart of my story remains clear. I was born in Tennessee, though the names of my parents and the exact day I arrived at are no longer remembered. What mattered most was where I landed and the love that found me there.
I became part of a family who cared deeply about animals, especially dogs, and who held a special place in their hearts for basset hounds. They admired our patience, our loyalty, our gentle nature, and the way we move through the world at our own thoughtful pace.
Life with me was simple and steady. I enjoyed familiar routines, quiet companionship, and being close to the people who loved me. In those everyday moments, the idea of Big Al The Basset Hound as a pet mascot was first formed, not as a brand or character, but as a reflection of the comfort, joy, and connection a good dog brings into a family’s life.
My story was never shared widely, but it quietly laid the foundation for everything that followed. The spirit of Big Al The Basset Hound began with me, rooted in patience, affection, and a deep respect for animals and the people who care for them.
“I didn’t need to be in a hurry. The good things always seemed to find me.”

And with that gentle beginning, the Big Al story was ready for its next chapter.

My name was Big Al II, and I was born in the state of Tennessee on July 23, 2014. My birth dad’s name was RJ, and my birth mom’s name was Audrey. My parents and I were all AKC-registered basset hounds of European bloodline. I was adopted by my humans on October 2, 2014, and from that day on, I found my favorite things: my family, long naps, and good food.
I loved people of all ages and had a special fondness for children, welcoming everyone with the same gentle curiosity. I also cared for other animals too, even cats, though I always preferred to greet them slowly and politely.
With the help of my human parents, I shared my life through social media and this website so that families and children around the world could follow along. Together, we built a gentle place filled with stories, smiles, and moments of connection. I never rushed, but somehow my slow steps helped the Big Al story grow, bringing people together through kindness, curiosity, and a love for animals.
“My story didn’t end. It simply made room for the next chapter!"

Oh yes, this picture isn’t me yet, but I’m hoping to arrive soon.
Think of it as -
The real Big Al III (that’s me) is on the way. 🐾 🐾 🐾
I’m still growing, still getting ready, and still taking my sweet basset time. When I arrive, I’ll be ready to sniff everything, nap enthusiastically, and carry forward the gentle, slow-moving spirit of Big Al.
Until then, consider this a promise.
Stay tuned.
This story is just getting started!
